The name ‘1890’ pays tribute to the founding year of the First Land Mortgage Bank, a key institution once housed in this grand Neo-Renaissance palace. What was once a bustling financial hub is now a haven for culinary artistry. Our Executive Chef, Josef Votoček, brings the same level of precision and care to each dish, blending traditional Czech flavours with global influences to create a truly harmonious dining experience.
From morning to evening, the atmosphere at 1890 shifts to reflect the time of day. During breakfast, the restaurant offers an open, spacious layout, ideal for starting your day. As the evening unfolds, plush velvet curtains create more intimate sections for dining, offering a warm and cosy ambiance.
BREAKFAST
Our breakfast buffet is open to all, featuring a selection of hot and cold dishes, including fresh pastries, eggs, premium hams, cheeses, homemade granola, yoghurts, fresh fruit, and smoothies. Gluten-free options are also available. Add a little sparkle with frizzante wine or mix your own alcohol-free Bloody Mary.
Freshly made omelettes, pancakes, and avocado toast are available to order, or explore seasonal options from our à la carte menu. On select mornings, live performances by soloists, including harpists from the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, create a delightful ambiance to start your day.
